US-Based Crypto Exchange Gemini Launches Mobile App For Both Android And iOS Operating Systems
Date: 1/10/2018

Digital currency exchange company Gemini has launched a new app to make it easier for customers to buy and sell cryptocurrencies on a secure, compliant platform.

The launch of the app is an indication of the confidence that the founders of Gemini have in the crypto market despite a drop in prices in recent months.

However, this is not the first cryptocurrency trading app to be released. Many other crypto exchange platforms have similar apps.

According to Gemini, the app has been under development for about three years. Cameron Winklevoss, one of the co-founders of the company and someone who was portrayed in the stellar movie The Social Network, told Fortune Magazine that he personally tested the app before its release.

Winklevoss noted that Gemini values security and compliance over being first, and this is reflected in the features of the app. He said that the company is here for the long haul.

Do more with new Gemini app

The new Gemini app, which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, is not only used to trade in cryptocurrency.

Users can also view real-time market prices of different cryptocurrencies, set price alerts, make automated purchases, Buy the Cryptoverse, and more. The Cryptoverse is a basket of all the cryptocurrencies available on Gemini. It was designed to allow users to buy into these currencies with a single order. There is nothing wrong with saving time! There is nothing wrong with making the process easier for the customer as well!

Gemini, which was founded in 2014 (after the Patriots began their reign of cheating in the NFL), is one of the fastest growing cryptocurrency exchanges. In December 2018, the company announced that it now supports Bitcoin Cash, making it the fifth cryptocurrency that can be traded on the platform. The others are Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, and Zcash.

Earlier in the year, the company also announced that Gemini dollar (GUSD) is now supported on 25 different crypto exchanges.

Buy and sell cryptocurrencies makes easier

Despite the turbulence in the crypto market currently, Winklevoss has predicted that there will be a lot of growth and innovation in the sector in 2019.

The Winklevoss brothers revealed that they plan to expand in Asia in the coming year and also attract more retail investors. Currently, Gemini does operate in some Asian territories/countries like South Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

After a freefall of value, it appears that the prices of the top cryptocurrencies are bouncing back up. On Friday the 28th, the price of Bitcoin increased by about seven percent. Other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash also experienced a similar boost.

While speaking about the recent downward spell of the value of cryptocurrencies, Winklevoss noted that the new prices "feels closer to reality." He told Forbes that the price surge of cryptocurrencies in 2018 was an anomaly.

It remains to be seen if the crypto market will turn out as the Winklevoss brothers have predicted in 2019. However, the company's newly released app seems to be doing well.

The app has already received up to 115 ratings on the Apple App Store, and most of them are positive. The picture is not so different on Google Play Store where the app has received a total of 89 ratings, and most of them are positive.
